Minefields outside Menongue. The area was heavily mined post 1992.  By UNITA to keep the MPLA and civilians in the city (part of their strategy to starve them out) and the inner ring by the MPLA to keep UNITA out. People living in the minefields. Even the waterholes are mined The UN has estimated that a landmine which costs $3 to purchase costs between $200 and $1,000 to clear.

30-40% of the victims of landmines are children under the age of 15. Angola is the most mined country in the world, with approximately 15 million uncleared landmines. More than 30,000 Angolans have had limbs amputated as a result of mine explosions.

Come in Goose, this is Maverick Main airfield at Longa. Was a major supply station in the 88 war Start of the Highway of Death. Not potholes but mine explosions.
