We spend a wonderful 10 days in Moz, using Morrumbene Beach resort as our base. Went diving in Morrungulu, and site seeing in the Inhambane district. Can't wait to return. Anybody who wants information regarding Morrumbene welcom to contact me...

Hi Chantal!
We are on our way to Morrumbene Beach resort in June. Have heard some rillers about the road between Maxixe and the resort! Is it really that bad?? we'll be travelling with a Toyota Land Cruiser, but alo with trailer (not bush type!!). Would also like some advice on food. What did you take with? Are we allowed to take meat across the border? Did you fish? Was it possible to buy fresh fish from the locals? Is the water okay to drink or did you take with?
Would love to hear from you (or anyone else) please!

You should make it with the trailer but be sure to check and repack the trailer bearings before you go and also carry a spare set - sand kills the wheels of small trailers. Rather underload the trailer, and of course let tyres on vehicle (not on trailer) down to 1.5bar for the sand stretch.

Thanks Mike! You've given us a lot of good advice already. Now I have peace of mind about the trailer as well! I would enjoy to report back after our holiday! Could you perhaps give us some advice on the food, etc. that I asked Chantal about?
Thanks!

Hi

usually able to buy fresh fish from locals. I would also ask about Funky Monkeys as they also do great meals at a budget. Morrumbene has borehole water but yes it would be a good precaution to drink bottled water - or carry in a few jerries of SA's finest tap water.
