Greetings all ,
Im off to TETE and Cabora Bassa next week on a business trip and im looking for some decent accomodation. Only numbers/info i could find was for Hotel Zambeze and they are fully booked...
Any other options? Also , car hire , who is the cheapest/best...
Appreciate any advice in this regard...

due to all the mining, tobacco and other activity in the Tete area, accommodation in Tete is very hard to find. Apart from Hotel Zambeze the other good options that I have stayed at or checked out are Motel Tete: + 82 5882040, (252) 22345/6, fax 22347. Sundowner Guesthouse (S.A run but had some bad reviews): William: + 822591410 or Nadia: 825888570. Both have air-con and en-suite bath. Estalagem Nhanga near Motel Tete - recommended in Latest Bradt guide 00 258 825 986 600. Paraiso Misterioso: + 258 82 540 8680 - on the banks of the Zambezi near the bridge.
Also found but have no info or comment: Smart Naira Hotel Lda

Also Pensao Baobab: (claims to have aircon, TV, laundry): Tel/fax 00 258 25220092. Cell: 00258 825766420.
I would use text messages or fax as probably only Portuguese spoken unless you speak Porto of course.
Please let us all know what you find out as this is becoming a frequently asked question. Also a trip report on return would be great!

Ja tentei quase todos...tudo esta occupado.
Anyway , will try make a plan or just wing it when im there. Will let you know what i find. Many thanks for the advise and info , very usefull indeed.
