Hi Mike

Normally I dont bring much across from SA and have previously just eaten at the restaurants on Macaneta, but this time we are a larger group and will be in Moz for a week so will be bringing some stuff across.

Can you possibly assist with the restrictions at the border for the following:

1) Meat - how much can you bring across and is there specifications on packaging? Vacuum packed, etc?
2) Groceries - what is this limited to or value per person.
3) Are you able to bring Ciders across the border such as Savanna or Red Square
4) Do I need proof of purchase for any of this?

Thanks in advance

Great thanks - very helpful.

1 question - do you need to declare all your grocery items on the form at the border? Sorry but as expalined I have never had to fill in any import forms before or anything.

Hi

You need to declare valuable items such as your camera, computer, ipad etc, otherwise declare nothing.

All perishable goods (eat and drink) such as meat, veg, groceries fall under the MT5000 pp limit. If there is an outbreak of Foot and Mouth disease in SA, then Moz often bans imports of meat. Currently no restrictions but always best to vacuum pack anyway.
