Casa de Mar is 30km SE of Inhambane City.
Hi Mike,
Here at Casa de Mar we have had very strong winds from the South then swinging slowly from the West. We had to batten down the hatches but we have had no damage at all and the beach at the moment is unchanged. The waves are massive but they are not doing any damage. The wind has re-sculptured some of the dunes but no damage to roads or structures. The rain so far has not been as heavy as we expected, but it is not over yet.
Funsa seems to have moved slowly South and little East. We hope that the worst is now over. Just before the effects of the cyclone reached us we were fortunate the have a turtle nest hatching right in front of us. 82 babies made it safely to to the water.
Kind regards

From a contact in Maputo:
Hi Mike,
Apart from high winds and lots of rain, which has severely aggravated the potholes, there's not much impact in the parts of Maputo that I frequent. Some low-lying areas of town were flooded out and some low income-housing destroyed. Disruptions to our beer deliveries as some of our Distributors were inaccessible and certain country areas cant receive deliveries. Could have been lost worse and we are expecting high winds until Friday. Now EN1 is re-opened, not too much disruption this far South.
Regards
